Hexham East First School is a small friendly school located in the East End of Hexham.  We are at the top of a hill consequently having fabulous views from all our classroom windows.  We have a large field on which the children are able to play during warm days and in the winter they are able to build snowmen.

Within the school grounds we have a nature garden. We have 117 children on the roll from 4-9 years old. The nursery aged children can attend for either a morning or afternoon session.

We have recently set up an Early Years Unit for our Nursery and Reception age children.

The Early Years Unit has access to its own outdoor area which has been recently up graded to add more outdoor equipment, a play house and gardening area. There is a Language Class in school which helps children from Northumberland with speech and language problems.

Year 1 have their own playground with a play house and lots of outdoor small toys. Within the school we have a computer suite, and each classroom is equipped with an interactive white board.
